Parking
On-campus parking permit sales for fall-semester passes or annual passes will open Monday, July 21 at 9 a.m. Fall permits are valid September 1 through December 31, 2025 and annual passes are valid September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Do not register before permits are open, as your request will be denied.
Semester and annual passes – New users

- You must ensure the activation date on your IPASS application indicates September 1, 2025.

Payment can be made through the using a credit card or pre-authorized payment.
- After completing the registration, you'll receive an email confirmation.
- Please note: This could take several days based on the volume of applications.
In the instance of a disapproval email, please re-submit your parking request making the appropriate correction (e.g. institutional email, correct banking information) or choosing a different lot.
You should pick up your access card or hang tag prior to Friday, August 29 at the parking office—located in the Gordon Willey building, north Oshawa campus. The office is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Initial access cards will be provided at no charge; replacement cards can be requested for $25.
Current permit holder (gated and hang-tag lots) - fall semester passes - north Oshawa campus

Existing permit holders can obtain a spring/summer semester pass through and enter the existing access card number for continued use upon approval. For hang-tag permits, visit the Parking Office with your existing hang tag between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday to have a new permit sticker applied to the hang-tag.

Daily parking

Daily parking is available in two types of lots: Pay and display, or gated lots.

The cost for daily parking is $5 per hour with a maximum of $18 per day.

Tap debit and credit card payments are available at exit gates.

Pay stations—which accept cash, coins, debit and credit cards—are located in the Founders 2 Lot (south-east corner) and Commencement Lot at the north Oshawa campus.

- If you require parking in downtown Oshawa, you're encouraged to reach out to parking@dc-ot.ca for parking information at 61 Charles Street (Charles Hall). Short-term or daily parking will be available at Charles Hall, details will be posted closer to the start of the semester.
Electric vehicle charging stations

The charging stations on campus cost $3 per hour.

Please note: The hourly fee will apply the entire time the vehicle is plugged in, even after a vehicle is fully charged. Drivers should move their vehicles after charging is complete to allow others the opportunity to use the system.

You must have a valid parking permit or day pass properly displayed when parking in an EV charging parking stall and/or using an EV charger.

Permit holders with card access can pick up an EV dashboard pass at the Parking office to display in their vehicle to show proof of a valid permit and avoid ticketing.

Permit holders with a valid hang-tag for a different lot may park in the EV charging stall while they are using the chargers, if their hang-tag is displayed.

Any unauthorized or improperly parked motor vehicle will be ticketed at the vehicle owner’s risk and expense.
All university parking is managed by third party providers. The purchasing process will depend on your lot location and availability. Once a parking lot is full, please select another option if available based on location. A waitlist will be created based on the time of registration and the selected parking lot.

Registration for 2025-2026 academic year parking permits is open; follow the instructions below to obtain your new annual or semester permit.
Annual or semester permit: Which one is right for me?
An annual permit is valid for 12 months. It costs the same as two semester permits. Save 33 per cent on the per-semester price!
A semester permit is only valid for four months at a time:
- Fall – September 1 to December 31
- Winter – January 1 to April 30
- Spring/Summer – May 1 to August 31
Purchasing a new annual or semester permit
If you don’t already hold a permit, use the to register and pay for your annual (September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026) or Fall-semester (September 1 to December 31, 2025) permit online.
Note: If you are purchasing a Fall-semester permit only, please ensure the IPASS application indicates September 1, 2025 as the activation date.
- Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- You must use your @ontariotechu.ca email address to register.
- Use the to pay for your parking permit. You can choose to pay in full, or set up equal monthly payments through credit card or pre-authorized payment. Payroll deduction is not available.
- After completing the registration, you will receive an approval email within 48 hours.
- Those with parking access cards can input their card number while registering. This card will be activated upon IPASS approval. No further action will be required.
- Those without parking access cards will receive one at no charge. Replacement cards cost $25.
- Pick up your access card or hang tag before Monday, September 1 at the Parking Services office in the Gordon Willey Building, north Oshawa campus location, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Current annual permit holders
If you currently hold an annual parking permit and wish to keep this arrangement for the upcoming year, no action is required. Your annual permit will automatically roll over to the 2025-2026 parking year, with the same lot assignment and payment plan (monthly payments or lump sum).
Note: If you don’t wish to renew your annual pass, you must email Parking Services by Monday, July 14 indicating your request to cancel. This will prevent automatic renewal.
Current Summer-semester permit holders
Your current semester pass will expire Sunday, August 31.
- To switch to an annual pass, email Parking Services by Monday, July 14 with your request, and indicate method of payment (one-time, monthly, etc.). Note: If you anticipate requiring 12 months of parking, we suggest switching to an annual parking permit to avoid additional costs.
- To extend your current summer semester pass to cover the Fall (September 1 to December 31, 2025), submit your request through the . IPASS will respond within 48 business hours.
Pay-As-U-Go (PAUG) option
- Register for this option on the IPASS website using a credit card. New users and those switching from annual or semester to PAUG will receive a new access card (to be picked up at the Parking Services office) to park in a designated gated lot.
- Charge per day is $12 and allows the user to exit and re-enter the lot (in-and-out privilege) with no additional charge during a single 24-hour calendar day (12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.).
- Charges on the registered credit card will be applied at the end of each month; you will receive a monthly email statement.
- Available for only the Founders 2 and Commencement lots at the north Oshawa campus location.
- Important: PAUG users are advised to scan out using their access card regardless of whether the gates are up or down. IPASS requires the confirmation of exit from the lot.
Daily parking
